ASHTANGA WORKSHOP:
A practice for the everyday beginner

with Carla

Sun 12.04.26, 09:15 – 12:15

Beginner Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 90 CHF

“Atha yoganusasanam: Now we begin the practice of Yoga.”
1.1 Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

This workshop is an invitation to meet the foundations, the method, and the frame of Ashtanga practice. You will meet yourself in this structure and begin the path of self-discovery, a long-term process that unfolds patiently, one step at a time.

Ashtanga yoga can be an intimidating practice and often there are misconceptions about who can practice using this method. Ashtanga is a method for everyone. It provides you with a structure, but you can work within this at your own pace. Safely and intelligently practising with mindfulness and acceptance will take you to a place of great compassion and understanding towards yourself and others.

This workshop is for any beginner-minded and curious student with an interest in learning or continuing to learn the Ashtanga method. For those who want to start practising Ashtanga, it will provide a solid foundation and for those who have some experience with the practice, it will be an opportunity to clarify and deepen your understanding of this method.

The workshop begins with a guided Half Primary practice, including Sun Salutations, foundational standing postures, and part of the Primary Series. Modifications and variations are offered to support all levels and injuries, allowing everyone to move safely and mindfully while cultivating steadiness, presence, and a sustainable, long-lasting practice.

After a short pause to reset, we move into a focused exploration of key elements of the Ashtanga method. These will be paired with practical exercises, so the insights are experienced, not just listened to. We will explore the three elements of Tristana (breath, bandhas/internal postures, and drishti) through gentle movement, allowing you to feel and integrate them in your practice. These fundamental tools will help you cultivate presence, focus, and stability, ultimately making your practice a full mind and body experience that transcends from your mat into all aspects of life.

The session concludes with a final relaxation, giving body and mind time to settle and integrate the practice.

Spring Blossom Retreat
GraubĂźnden
with Carla

Fri 24.04.26 – Sun 26.04.26
Berghotel Sterna, Feldis/Veulden, Switzerland

Spring is the time of gentle beginnings, a time when what has lain dormant beneath the surface during winter rises to the surface again with a quiet awakening of curiosity.

This retreat with yoga teacher Carla Araos at the Berghotel Sterna in Domleschg, GraubĂźnden, Switzerland, is an invitation to reconnect with the natural rhythm of awakening. You will be encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply, and attune your body to the blossoming around you.

Surrounded by the mountains of GraubĂźnden, we’ll move through grounding asana practices, guided meditation, mantra, and restorative sessions, allowing the outer season to inspire an inner one.

Spring is not only about beginnings; we will also focus on practices of gratitude. Just as the buds unfurl, they remind us of the winter that kept them safe, treasures preserved under the snow, now awakened by the earth’s gentle warmth. These lessons of nature also apply to our lives, as we grow after winter’s harder times.

This retreat gives you time to move, rest, reflect and simply be: held by nature, nourished by the mountain air and supported by the warmth of a group of like-minded people.

Spring doesn’t shout. It whispers. This retreat invites you to listen.

BEYONG BREATH: 5 SENSES
with Max Moritz

Sat 09.05.26, 18:00 – 20:00
Sat 18.07.26, 18:00 – 20:00

Open Level
Price: 70 CHF per session

Beyond Breath: 5 Senses is a guided breathwork experience that brings you back into your body through all five senses: sight, sound, touch, smell and taste, accompanied by electronic music.

This is not a traditional breathwork class. It is a structured sensory journey divided into five distinct blocks, each activating one sense and progressively shifting awareness from the mind into the body.

Participants will move through:

  • visual light atmospheres and focused gaze practices
  • electronic soundscapes synchronized with breath
  • tactile elements (temperature, textures, grounding objects)
  • curated aromatic transitions
  • a final taste ritual for integration

You’ll move through visual light elements and soft focus practices, breathing with electronic soundscapes, simple tactile experiences using temperature and texture, subtle aromatic transitions, and a final shared taste ritual to land and integrate.

The session weaves together gentle yoga-based warm-up, somatic movement, traditional breathing techniques and modern breathwork approaches. Everything is guided clearly and held in a safe, structured space.

Each edition carries a different theme or intention, so no two sessions are exactly the same.

If you’re feeling overstimulated, tired or disconnected, this is an opportunity to slow down, regulate your nervous system and reconnect with yourself.

Spaces are limited.

With a background in music and event creation across Europe, he developed Beyond Breath as a space where rhythm becomes introspection and breath becomes transformation. Instagram: @max.himade

SPRING RESET: Yoga & Sound Bath
with Carla

Sun 22.03.26, 17:00 – 19:00

Open Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 79 CHF

Spring is arriving, and we find ourselves at a natural turning point; a moment of balance between light and dark, rest and movement, reflection and forward momentum. This Sunday evening practice is an invitation to consciously step into the new season with awareness.

The evening begins with a gentle yoga practice to awaken the body while remaining grounded. Through mindful movement, breath, and steady pacing, we create warmth and the sense of spaciousness, preparing both body and mind. This is an active yet light practice, perfect for the end of the weekend. It is accessible to all levels.

From movement, we transition into a deeply settling sound bath. As you rest comfortably, resonant tones from singing bowls fill the space, supporting nervous system regulation, and inner spaciousness. The sound allows the effects of the practice to settle more deeply, offering a sense of renewal and clarity.

Spring is a time to awaken from winter sleep and arise. Nature reminds us that life is cyclical; an inspiration for us to embrace transformation and new beginnings. This evening offers the space to gently shake off the weight of winter, to listen inwardly, to reconnect with what feels meaningful, and to remember we can begin again.

No previous experience is required.

NEW MOON PRACTICE: Candlelight Yoga & Yoga Nidra
with Carla

Sun 18.01.26, 17:00 – 19:00

Open Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 79 CHF

We meet the New Moon, a threshold between what has been and what is yet to unfold. This New Moon carries us into a resting and cleansing phase.

Winter teaches us that transformation often begins in stillness. Beneath frozen ground, roots awaken; new life gathers quietly in the dark. The same is true within us. The growth we cannot see is still becoming. The power we cannot name is still forming.

This gentle 2-hour candlelit workshop invites you into that sacred pause.

We begin with a slow, mindful flow to soften the body, find spaciousness through breath, and release the residue of the previous season. The practice then leads into Yoga Nidra, a guided journey into deep rest where the body restores, and the mind becomes receptive.

In this state of quiet clarity, you will be invited to set meaningful intentions aligned with the New Moon cycle. Rather than forcing resolutions, we honour what arises naturally allowing intentions to root with patience, softness, and trust.

We close with tea, light snacks, and time for reflection and sharing in a warm, held space.

Let this be your soft beginning: grounded, intuitive, and deeply your own.

108 SUN SALUTATIONS:
A Homage to the Sun

with Carla Araos

Sun 22.06.25, 10:15 – 13:15

Open Level (not suitable for complete beginners)
Price: 90 CHF

Let’s celebrate the summer solstice!

We invite you to join us for an energising, powerful, and inspiring ‘moving meditation’ as we flow together through 108 Sun Salutations. Our movement honours the sun, the solar spirit symbolising the infinite light of pure consciousness.

We invite you to look deep inside yourself for an intention. This is especially important during this practice, as it is in this intention that you will find the willpower and the desire to keep going.

Practising the 108 Sun Salutations requires not only tapas (discipline) but also Satya (honesty) and Ahimsa (non-violence). Practise mindfully, diligently, and intelligently. Pause if needed, and enjoy being grounded by your breath.

The number 108 has many symbolic meanings and is considered sacred and auspicious across many disciplines. In yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion. Ancient yogis believed that we can be in harmony with the rhythms of nature by completing practices in rounds of this sacred number. It connects the body, mind, and universe, especially when there is a period of change, such as an equinox or solstice. As we gather energy through repetition, we can use it to start the season renewed and inspired.

This practice is an opportunity to re-energise and reignite your practice. Afterwards, we will finish with a relaxing and extended savasana.

This is an open-level event, but prior Sun Salutation experience is recommended.

In this workshop, we will look closely at a section (Half Primary) of the primary series or Yoga Chikizta, the most healing and therapeutic sequence of the Ashtanga yoga method.

You will begin the path of self-discovery, a long-term process that requires dedication, discipline, determination, trust, and patience. See below for more information about each part.

Sunday 6th April 2025
Part 2: Dandasana to Janu Sirsasana A.

Sunday 18th May 2025
Part 3: Unravelling the primary series Part 3: Janu sirsasana to Navasana.

Ashtanga is a method for everyone. It provides you with a structure, but you can work within this structure at your own pace, safely and intelligently practising with mindfulness and acceptance. Modifications can be done for different levels of experience or in case of injury, and there is always the option to skip certain poses if necessary, hence your practice is sustainable, long-lasting, and beneficial. It will take you to a place of great compassion and understanding toward yourself and others

We will look closely at the three elements of Tristana (breath, bandhas and drishti). These fundamental tools will transform your practice, cultivate presence, focus and stability, and make your asana practice a full mind and body experience that transcends from your mat into all aspects of life.

This workshop is for any curious student interested in learning from the beginning or continuing to learn the Ashtanga method. For those who want to start practising Ashtanga, it will provide a solid foundation. For those who have some experience with the practice, it will be an opportunity to clarify and deepen your understanding of this method.

This is an open-level workshop. It is open for those who have existing yoga experience but is not suitable for complete beginners to yoga.

*This is a 3-part workshop. You can book all 3 parts together or independently, but you should be familiar with the practice until the point where we left it in the previous part.
