FINISSAGE 02.11.2025

We all forge our own journey. Before us lies a path branching into an infinite number of possibilities, some familiar, others yet to be discovered. Photographer Rowan Thornhill invites us into these moments of intersection, where personal paths meet landscapes, strangers, and the quiet spaces in between. His images range from still, contemplative scenes to lively, spontaneous glimpses, moments of solitude, grace, restless movement, and stepping into the unknown.

Ljus Studio’s own Rowan Thornhill is a professional photographer with a huge passion for exploring the globe. Originally from England, he studied commercial photography in Sweden and is now based in Zürich. He constantly seeks to capture the essential beauty of the people, places and moments he experiences on his travels, creating images that convey honesty and intrigue, while remaining timeless and aesthetically simple.

SUNDAY SPECIAL: Candlelight Yoga &
Yoga Nidra

with Carla

Sun 23.11.25, 17:00 – 19:00

Open Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 79 CHF

As November draws to a close, the days grow short and the air turns still. Before the season of Advent begins, we gather to pause, to rest in the quiet glow of candlelight and turn gently inward.

In the deep hush of approaching winter, light takes on a sacred quality. It softens the edges, steadies the breath, and reminds us of the warmth that endures within.

This special 2-hour candlelit class begins with a slow, mindful flow: gentle movements and breath-centred transitions that invite the body to soften and the mind to settle. The practice then unfolds into Yoga Nidra transitioning into a deep state of rest, meditation, and renewal, allowing us to reconnect with stillness and inner clarity.

We’ll close with tea, nourishing snacks, and a moment for gentle reflection. A way to carry the evening’s light into the days ahead.

108 SUN SALUTATIONS:
A Homage to the Sun

with Carla Araos

Sun 22.06.25, 10:15 – 13:15

Open Level (not suitable for complete beginners)
Price: 90 CHF

Let’s celebrate the summer solstice!

We invite you to join us for an energising, powerful, and inspiring ‘moving meditation’ as we flow together through 108 Sun Salutations. Our movement honours the sun, the solar spirit symbolising the infinite light of pure consciousness.

We invite you to look deep inside yourself for an intention. This is especially important during this practice, as it is in this intention that you will find the willpower and the desire to keep going.

Practising the 108 Sun Salutations requires not only tapas (discipline) but also Satya (honesty) and Ahimsa (non-violence). Practise mindfully, diligently, and intelligently. Pause if needed, and enjoy being grounded by your breath.

The number 108 has many symbolic meanings and is considered sacred and auspicious across many disciplines. In yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion. Ancient yogis believed that we can be in harmony with the rhythms of nature by completing practices in rounds of this sacred number. It connects the body, mind, and universe, especially when there is a period of change, such as an equinox or solstice. As we gather energy through repetition, we can use it to start the season renewed and inspired.

This practice is an opportunity to re-energise and reignite your practice. Afterwards, we will finish with a relaxing and extended savasana.

This is an open-level event, but prior Sun Salutation experience is recommended.

In this workshop, we will look closely at a section (Half Primary) of the primary series or Yoga Chikizta, the most healing and therapeutic sequence of the Ashtanga yoga method.

You will begin the path of self-discovery, a long-term process that requires dedication, discipline, determination, trust, and patience. See below for more information about each part.

Sunday 2nd March 2025
Part 1: Samasthiti to Virabhadrasana & Finishing Sequence.

Sunday 6th April 2025
Part 2: Dandasana to Janu Sirsasana A.

Sunday 18th May 2025
Part 3: Unravelling the primary series Part 3: Janu sirsasana to Navasana.

Ashtanga is a method for everyone. It provides you with a structure, but you can work within this structure at your own pace, safely and intelligently practising with mindfulness and acceptance. Modifications can be done for different levels of experience or in case of injury, and there is always the option to skip certain poses if necessary, hence your practice is sustainable, long-lasting, and beneficial. It will take you to a place of great compassion and understanding toward yourself and others

We will look closely at the three elements of Tristana (breath, bandhas and drishti). These fundamental tools will transform your practice, cultivate presence, focus and stability, and make your asana practice a full mind and body experience that transcends from your mat into all aspects of life.

This workshop is for any curious student interested in learning from the beginning or continuing to learn the Ashtanga method. For those who want to start practising Ashtanga, it will provide a solid foundation. For those who have some experience with the practice, it will be an opportunity to clarify and deepen your understanding of this method.

This is an open-level workshop. It is open for those who have existing yoga experience but is not suitable for complete beginners to yoga.

*This is a 3-part workshop. You can book all 3 parts together or independently, but you should be familiar with the practice until the point where we left it in the previous part.

REST & RECONNECT:
A Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath Journey

with Carla & Yuki

Sun 14.09.25, 17:00 – 19:00

Open Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 69 CHF

This Sunday evening experience offers a journey inward, beginning with a gentle Restorative Yoga practice to ease the body and calm the nervous system. It continues with a soothing Sound Bath, using resonant tones to invite deep rest and inner balance. The session provides a peaceful space to transition from external busyness to inner stillness.

This Sunday, we gather in the quiet golden hour glow to rest, release, and return to ourselves.

The evening begins with a gentle Restorative Yoga practice, an invitation to soften and be held. Through long-held, fully supported postures and quiet stillness, the body is gently guided into a state of deep ease. The breath slows, the nervous system unwinds, and a quiet spaciousness begins to open, creating the perfect inner landscape to receive what follows.

Our journey then flows into a Sound Bath, where resonant tones from singing bowls create a spacious, meditative field of sound. This immersive experience invites deep rest, energetic balance, and inner reconnection, a chance to simply be, held in vibration and stillness.

There is a special calm to Sunday evenings, a gentle threshold between the fullness of life and the quiet of our inner world. This evening offers you that space: to step from tension into tenderness, from mind into heart, from noise into stillness.

No experience is needed. This is a space to simply be, wrapped in warmth, resonance, and deep restoration

AUTUMN FLOW &
RESTORATIVE YOGA

with Carla

Sun 26.10.25, 17:00 – 19:00

Open Level – Everyone is warmly welcome
Price: 79 CHF

As autumn deepens and the trees let go of their leaves, nature reminds us of the quiet wisdom in release; not as loss, but as preparation for rest and renewal.

This 2-hour practice begins with a gentle, breath-centred flow of grounding postures and smooth transitions. Moving with mindful awareness supports vitality, digestion, and inner steadiness as we attune to the season’s slower rhythm.

The second half invites deep rest through restorative yoga. Supported by props, we soften into postures that ease the nervous system, quiet the mind, and replenish the body. Restorative yoga gives us space to pause and balance the natural fatigue that can arise in autumn.

We will close the evening with a tender surprise, a moment of sound and stillness to softly seal the practice. Nothing is required from you, simply to receive. Afterwards, we’ll share tea and seasonal snacks together. A time to nourish, connect, and carry the calm of autumn into your evening.
